The Genetics Department of LabPoint (Avenches, Switzerland) is looking for a motivated collaborator with a genuine interest in molecular genetic diagnostics and a commitment to developing new skills. A collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centred quality are essential.

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team and contribute to the growth of this dynamic medical genetics laboratory. The role will involve laboratory bench work and organization as well as managerial responsibilities, working closely with the Department Director and other colleagues to oversee daily operations, optimize workflows, and ensure the highest standards of quality.

 

The position will have considerable opportunity for advancement and continuous education in clinical molecular genetics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  NGS library preparation.

  • Operation and maintenance of NGS instrumentation.

  • Troubleshooting and quality control of library preparation and sequencing run

  • Contribute to the analytical and biological validation of results.

  • Contribute to the interpretation and reporting of results.

  • Perform test optimization, validation, and implementation of future diagnostic workflows, particularly NGS-based tests such as WGS, WES, targeted panels, and liquid biopsy assays.

  • Assist in the writing and implementation of new SOPs.

  • Coordinate and supervise routine diagnostic activities.

  • Proactively troubleshoot technical issues and ensure that all laboratory activities comply with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in the continuous development of the LIMS and maintain detailed and accurate records.

  • Liaise with other departments, including Quality Management, IT, Logistics, and Preanalytics.

Pré-requis du poste

Your Profile

  • Higher education degree (PhD or Masters) in a relevant field

  • Proven experience and knowledge of NGS technology and workflows in a genetics diagnostic laboratory

  • NGS troubleshooting skills

  • Proven ability to work in a team

  • Proven knowledge of clinical molecular diagnostics

  • Excellent command of English and French; knowledge of German is an asset.

  • Preferred: broad experience and understanding of molecular genetic techniques
